Isherwood + Ellis was established in 1965 by the late E Gerald Isherwood and the late George F Ellis. The partnership now consists of four partners: Kenneth LG Fleming who became partner in October 1993. Arthur M Sloan joined the partnership in 1998, Gary A Mitchell in 2001 and Gareth C Blair in 2014.

Since our formation in 1965 Isherwood + Ellis have developed an enviable reputation for delivering a highly personal, responsive and quality service. Sensitivity to each client’s individual needs and an ongoing commitment from concept to construction by the partners, has built a strong reputation and forged lasting relationships with satisfied clients in both public and private sector. Founded in healthcare we continue to grow and develop our health, education and commercial portfolio. 

On current major regional and national projects, we have underpinned our strengths and expertise through collaboration with colleagues from AECOM, AHMM and O’Connell Mahon.

As an award winning practice I+E constantly strive for design and technical excellence through continuous research and investment, with partners working closely with associates, architects and technicians through all stages of our projects. We are committed to our team of c.,25 people, forging individual skills, strengths and specialisms with shared knowledge and experience, within a working environment that is relaxed and informal, yet focused. 

As the first NI practice to introduce CAD we continue to invest heavily in IT and staff training and development including BIM/Revit.

I+E have established the highest targets for the quality, environmental impact, health and safety of our services, delivered through an Integrated Management System accredited to ISO 9001 Quality Management, 14001 Environmental Management & 45001 Health & Safety Management.
